First View Of Asus AM3 motherboard
Fudzilla managed to get hands on the very first picture of Asus' first AM3 socket based motherboard M4A78. It was said that AMD's AM3 socket will support DDR3 memory, but it look life Asus' M4A78 is like to use DDR2 memory. Microprocessors which support AMD's AM3 socket are made up by using 45nm process technology. It is said that motherboard would get launched with AMD's AM3 processor support at CES 2009 or after it. The AM3 socket usen in Asus' M2A78 is grounded on the AMD 780G chipset. Thou, it is yet not clear whether AMD AM2/AM2+ processors will work on the Am3 based motherboards because they are lacking the required DDR3 memory controller. But still Asus' M4A78 seems to be using old DDr2 memory. Therefore in result, we have to wait and watch until specifications of the motherboard and unrivaled by officials. The motherboard appears to have D-sub, HDMI, DVI, four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, two PS/2 ports and optical S/PDIF out. Their are Six SATA connectors and an IDE connector which are quite visible on the broad with a x16 PCIe sort, three PCI slots and in last two x1 PCI slots.
